This piece was made primarily for a charity event in support of Ukraine and to honour the strong spirit of the people left to fight for their freedom whether physically, on the front line or simply showing up every day to carry on living the best life that they can.

Here are a few shots of mostly my art, but also the vibe of the evening organised by .intl

It was a beautiful event filled with feminine energy, music and artistic experimentation.

Though painting musicians is not a first for me, it’s been a while since I’ve done this, and, I gotta say, coming at it with a fresh perspective was actually invigorating and it motivated me to do more of this! Now I really want to explore the idea of painting and performance further ❤️

The musical instrument that is playing is called bandura and it’s a fascinating traditional Ukrainian instrument. Due to its complexity it reminded me of a piano the first time I heard and made me very emotional.
The other musician is , or the ‘flute master’ as I like to call him in my head 😄

In this session I used a mix of sustainable ‘acrylic’ paints and natural pigments.

Portrait of a Ukrainian singer Ira Luzina, which I am also naming “Fighter”, in the spirit of celebration of the feminine strength and resilience.

It is endlessly fascinating to me how us, so called ‘gentle beings’ are able to rise strong from nearly any kind of adversity, especially when it comes to protecting people important to us, yet, able to bring out the side that is soft and caring.

This is one of the themes of the Frontline Female exhibition I am taking part in at the end of January. It’s a charity event for Ukraine :

I am participating in this exhibition in London and I’d love to see you there!
It’s called Frontline Females Art Weekend (30 January – 1 February).

It is a charity art weekend at Candid Arts Centre in Islington dedicated to the benefit of Ukraine.

The event brings together women artists to share work shaped by lived experience and resilience. Alongside the exhibition, there will be live music, workshops and space to connect - with proceeds supporting UAID’s humanitarian work in Ukraine.

I'll be doing some live painting on the Friday ;)

It would be great to have you there, even if just for one part of the weekend.
