Graduated puppet school!! I’m officially a puppet!!

Having an absurdly good time continuing to pursue this art form, despite all the odds.

The Curious School of Puppetry has rewired my brain in the best possible way. Learning from over a dozen incredible tutors, working with a cohort of creatives (friends? Colleagues? Collaborators?!) from all over the world, and pushing myself to constantly generate new ideas, new movements, and new ridiculous moments has been the experience of a lifetime.

I can’t wait to take the beautiful work we’ve done here and have it inform my puppetry, my theatre making, and my writing.

What a blessing to turn the inanimate animate, and strangers into friends 🥹

Profound gratitude. Thanks for all the giggles and gasps.

For anyone in the professional world: consider me HIGHLY EMPLOYABLE (and frighteningly available).

For the past few months Sophie has been studying under some of the most exciting and established theatre makers in the UK at the Curious School of Puppetry in London. From object theatre to tabletop puppets to marionettes, she has learned so much from (and with) so many incredible artists 🥹

Resident icon/puppet Jeremy got to play a leading role in a reading of Sophie’s new play, ‘The Risotto is Burning,’ performed at a scratch night last month, directed by 🎭

Throwback to one of our favourite shadow puppets, made for a show at the back in 2018. We made this shadow rendition of the theatre for ‘The Lonelies,’ a short play that was part of the Belfry’s Spark Fest. ⚡️

In September, Sophie had the joy of designing and building puppets for the new .theatre show ‘Neither Here Nor There,” and performed as a puppeteer alongside .chen.7 at the Lambeth Fringe.

In October, Kiley got to stretch another creative muscle when she won a five night painting retreat in Ucluelet!! The amazing week was hosted by and led by the excellent teachers Ty and Ginja. Thank you for the surprise opportunity to sink into a project 🎨

Hey! Who the heck are we?? Feels like it’s time for an introduction!!

Over the Moon is made up of Sophie and Kiley, two best friends who have been living, laughing, loving, and creating together since 2017 🥹 (Sophie has the darker hair, Kiley has the glasses)

We’ve made puppet shows, shadow puppet projects, full length plays, short films, and an abundance of weird arts n crafts.

Making art with your best friend is truly one of the greatest gifts you could ask for, and we plan to keep this train rolling in one form or another 4ever and ever.

We live on separate continents atm because one of these idiots (cough SOPHIE) decided to move to London a few years ago to explore the theatre scene over here, but we still try to make fun stuff together whenever we can.

But we also have our separate groovy projects!! This past little while Sophie has been touring with from Spain to the Arctic Circle in an amazing piece of public climate art, as well as puppeteering at and . In Canada, Kiley has been designing and building giant puppets for a new (and award winning!) site specific show by , and performing in the puppet slam 🎭

Our online presence might be confusing, split between different spaces and faces and people, but we are CONFIDENT that our faithful followers can handle it 🫶

So that’s it! That’s us! Hit us up for any cross continental projects you have in mind - we have fingers in many pies in both Canada and the UK 💕💕💕
