The Merlin Entertainments Group of theme parks in the UK have today confirmed that they are hoping to reopen to the public on Saturday 4th July. This includes:

• Alton Towers
• THORPE PARK Official
• Official LEGOLAND Windsor
• Chessington World of Adventures Resort

We expect to receive further details soon on how each park will change their usual operating procedures to ensure guest safety in these challenging times. We anticipate it is likely to include some, or all, of the following measures:

• Pre-booked only tickets
• Socially distanced parking
• Enhanced cleaning regimes
• Temperature checks prior to entry
• Additional hand sanitiser locations
• Employees wearing PPE (e.g. face masks)
• Reduced capacity in the parks and on rides
• Socially distanced que lines or virtual queing
• Increased signage to remind guests of the new measures
• Closure or significant change in operating procedures for certain rides

With the Alton Towers gardens set to open to the public from this Saturday 6th June, it's not long to wait until Saturday 4th July, when we expect the majority of the rides to be open and running! 🎢

The safety measures that will be in place for visits to the Alton Towers Gardens from this weekend include:

• Reduced capacity
• Pre-booked tickets only
• Socially distanced parking
• Temperature checks prior to entry
• Encouragement of contactless payments
