Lino printing a batch of the Mari lwyd prints today 💜
We didn’t have this tradition in the part of wales I lived in, but I still love it so much! It’s these sorts of folk traditions that are lovely to see kept alive in Britain.

Although I bet it would be terrifying to see some of them in the night coming at you!

Lino printed on lokta paper with calico safe wash ink.

A recent logo design for ‘s Time and Tales podcast ✨
We went with a woodcut effect logo for this one, to complement their spooky vibes for the podcast. Check them out if you like dark history and strange folklore!

Because who doesn’t love listening to creepy stories just before bed.

Our medieval greeting cards are back! The Knight of revelry is the best seller from before but now in A5. And two new designs.

New are the unhinged medieval marginalia birthday card, and then wouldst thou still love me if I were a wyrm.

I have put up the wyrm card at a big discount because I uploaded the wrong file and it came out slightly blurry. So just selling those at cost, if anyone fancies a bargain price.

They’re sent with a kraft paper envelope, and don’t have any text on the inside.

Probably about time to start ordering the Christmas cards again.. crazy

Mini summary of our MCM Birmingham ✨
Tom is working on our vlog from the weekend, so folks who we interviewed we will let you know when that’s done, but a quick summary video of the weekend.

After two very difficult events in a row, MCM felt like an absolute breeze, to the point where we kept saying what’s going to go wrong >.>

We were right under the aircon, which after being in a heatwave for a few weeks I felt bad about complaining I was too cold, so made the most of that!

Definitely quieter than the London ones, but still went great for us and we got to meet lots of cool new people.

The convention code stickers went down well again which was nice. It did feel quite quiet but I’m not sure if that was just the super wide aisles?

Stayed in Chinatown this time round, and had some incredible meals, 100% going to be staying there again whenever we do Birmingham comic cons. So much cheaper than staying in the convention centre, and the food omg

Prepping for London MCM now, so been quiet on posts because we’ve been so busy making new products! Can’t wait to show you guys.

Been working more on the rat king Lino print carving- I’ve been putting it off because I was struggling with some of the textures, but got rid of a bit I didn’t like and feeling better about it now 🙌

Next step, a million dots and fur texture. I hope they’ll show up well on the paper as I have to use quite a thick layer of ink to work on the thicker lokta paper. We’ll see!

It’s been a while since I’ve carved a lino print, been so busy this summer with conventions. But we’re gonna have a bunch of new products for MCM London October so keep an eye out!

The stall covers people make for covering their tables after conventions close just crack me up so much, I had to get some videos of my favourite ones!

A few of the covers from MCM Birmingham. If you’re one of the owners of these, you made my day 🤣

The gamechanger one though ahahaha

Making a super speedy henin for a costume this weekend! Normally I’d sew one but I’ve seen what one of my favourite costume makers .makes can do with a glue gun, so I was inspired to try it out.

And now I’d definitely try out glue guns more for future costumes. It was a bit fiddly with the trim but seems to be holding together.

Also excuse the editing, the tripod hasn’t arrived for our new camera yet- but it’s been fun to play around with and try and practice editing!

Ready for asylum festival this weekend, finally a long weekend off for us both

Some of the more recent new products we’ve been working on!
Will be doing a restock on Etsy this week. But medieval one is fun because the borders are stickers too, so you can use them to decorate things creatively, like around a water bottle.

Since we can make them in house now, figured we can try and make the most out of the sheets!

I’m going to be redrawing the cat ones to make it more specifically a witches familiar. But they’ve all done well at the markets so far so absolutely going to be making more.

So many possibilities 😍
