A name to remember ❤️

In 'Mi chiamano Mimì', Puccini introduces one of opera’s most beloved characters.

Simple, unassuming and full of quiet charm, Mimì’s first appearance sets in motion a love story that has captivated audiences for generations.

A touch of summer magic ☀️

We’re marking the first day of summer with one of ballet’s most sparkling celebrations of sunshine and joy.

Golden, radiant and filled with light, the Summer Fairy variation from Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella captures the enchantment of the season in every step.

“You have to put the work in beforehand so that in the moment it doesn’t feel too much like work”

In this episode of Principals and their Preparation, Matthew Ball takes us through the hours leading up to a performance. From yoga and training to quiet moments backstage, every ritual plays a part in preparing for the stage.

For Matthew, preparation isn’t just physical - it’s a mindset. The work happens long before the curtain rises, allowing the focus to shift from technique to performance when the moment finally arrives.
