Footage of me, spraying soda solution into the big trolley kiln at Maze Hill Pottery.

It was my very first time helping to fire this kiln and the time when crew came around to the studio, to film the process of firing for upcoming solo exhibition.

I’m very proud to be Lisa’s apprentice and honoured to be the part of her story.

Thank you for recycling and offering some clay to me.
It was used for a sculpture piece as a part of the exhibition at BCB

We are exploring low firing earthenware glazes at the moment and I think I have a winning glaze for a project we have to present in a couple of weeks. We named the glaze “dark honey”.

Instead of making a test tile I decided to fire a small bottle.

In the background you can see some freshly cut timber I’m collecting locally, it will have to dry out and hopefully it will be ready for our wood firing.

Slip decorating day at ...
Mugs are bone dry at this stage and I mixed simple white slip just earlier today... I tested two different thicknesses and realised I need something in between, so I joined them back together!

I’m very happy with the shape of the mugs I’m making for our first earthenware project at . They were thrown on a kick wheel and the handles are pulled of the mug itself.

For this design I was inspired by a very known Ikea Mug FÄRGRIK, designed by

Those will most likely end up in a recycling bin and I will make a new bunch in the beginning of the next week. I’ll also slip decorate those, bisque fire, glaze and fire again.
