🚀 One of the greatest pleasures of founding ? Watching the connection between filmmakers to the people and companies who generously support the film festival with prize sponsorships actually happen.

This week, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of getting our 2026 Overall Winner connected with their very well-deserved prize.

A huge thank you to Foundry, the brilliant creators of , for providing a "NUKE Indie license" to Z Tennyson, winner of this year’s festival with the awesome fantasy-horror film "Olga".

It’s exactly the sort of thing we hoped WISFFF could help make happen — not just handing out laurels, but creating opportunities and putting useful tools into the hands of talented filmmakers.

And having seen what Z has already created with "Olga" — including that fantastic, deeply researched lore — we cannot wait to see what he creates next.

Thank you, Foundry, for supporting independent filmmakers and helping us make the prizes mean something. And if you've read this far... you have an interest... may be check out Foundry's corkingly good YouTube Channel https://lnkd.in/eZM4zuhg

The second of two posts providing details of the award winners from the latest (2026) season of WISFFF.

As another Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival comes to a close, I just wanted to say a huge thank you.

Whether your film made Round 1, Round 2, Official Selection, received an Honourable Mention, won an award, or simply took part this season, you helped make this one of our strongest festivals yet.

Independent genre filmmaking takes imagination, determination, and a lot of hard work. It has been a genuine pleasure to watch your films and celebrate your creativity.

Please join us in congratulating everyone recognised this season, and thank you again for being part of the WISFFF community.

Keep making films, keep telling stories, and keep flying towards those stars.

All the best,

Gavin

🚀 THE OFFICIAL 2026 SELECTION HAS LANDED 🚀

The judging process has now concluded, and the Official Selection for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival is confirmed.

To all of our Round 2 qualifiers — congratulations. Reaching that stage in such a fiercely competitive season was a major achievement in itself, and every one of you should be proud of the work that got you here.

To those progressing into the Official Selection — huge congratulations. Your films rose through an exceptional field of imaginative, ambitious, and brilliantly crafted genre filmmaking. We can’t wait to showcase your work on the big screen (about 25-30 of the films in a 5 hr screening programme)

To those not moving forward this time — please know how close many decisions were. The quality in Round 2 was outstanding, and making it that far says a great deal about your film and your filmmaking.

Thank you all for helping make this season one of our strongest yet. Screening Programme announced ASAP (but they are all worth watching).

See you at the cinema.

🚀 ROUND 2 IS LOCKED IN 🚀

The next wave of filmmakers has officially levelled up. *DING*

After an intensely competitive season, we’re thrilled to announce that Round 2 selections for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival are now confirmed — and the standard this year? Seriously high.

To everyone who made it through Round 1 — that was no small feat. You stood out in a packed field of bold, creative, genre storytelling. That achievement matters. Bravo 👏

And to our Round 2 filmmakers…
You’ve pushed through a really tight judging margin, one of the closest we’ve seen. This is where things get really interesting.

We’re talking:
✨ Big ideas
🎬 Sharper craft
🛸 Wilder worlds
đź’Ą Next-level indie filmmaking

The journey continues — and we cannot wait to share what’s coming next.

Stay tuned… Official Selection is incoming.

And >>> Go. We're off again. Won't go into delay detail (that was for the filmmakers...) but just like Thunderbirds/Artemis/Other space things... we are "GO".
