🚀 THE OFFICIAL 2026 SELECTION HAS LANDED 🚀

The judging process has now concluded, and the Official Selection for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival is confirmed.

To all of our Round 2 qualifiers — congratulations. Reaching that stage in such a fiercely competitive season was a major achievement in itself, and every one of you should be proud of the work that got you here.

To those progressing into the Official Selection — huge congratulations. Your films rose through an exceptional field of imaginative, ambitious, and brilliantly crafted genre filmmaking. We can’t wait to showcase your work on the big screen (about 25-30 of the films in a 5 hr screening programme)

To those not moving forward this time — please know how close many decisions were. The quality in Round 2 was outstanding, and making it that far says a great deal about your film and your filmmaking.

🚀 ROUND 2 IS LOCKED IN 🚀

The next wave of filmmakers has officially levelled up. *DING*

After an intensely competitive season, we’re thrilled to announce that Round 2 selections for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival are now confirmed — and the standard this year? Seriously high.

To everyone who made it through Round 1 — that was no small feat. You stood out in a packed field of bold, creative, genre storytelling. That achievement matters. Bravo 👏

And to our Round 2 filmmakers…
You’ve pushed through a really tight judging margin, one of the closest we’ve seen. This is where things get really interesting.

The journey continues — and we cannot wait to share what’s coming next.

– Round 1 Qualifiers Announced! 🚀✨

The first round of selections for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival is complete — and wow, what a journey it’s been... through galaxies of creativity! 🌌

Huge congratulations to all our Round 1 Qualifiers — your films caught the eyes (and hearts) of more than one panel member, whether through a great concept, a daring stunt, stunning VFX, eye-popping prop, or simply a performance that shone like a star. You’ve earned your laurel, and you should be proud. 🌟 Be warned though next round... well it is tougher than spell-hardened dragon-armour.

To those whose films didn’t make it through this time: we see you, and we salute you. The hardest part of any festival director’s role (if you ask me) is sending those “not this round” messages and reading the disappointed replies that follow. We feel it too — because every submission represents your work, imagination, effort, and courage. Regardless of this, you're a filmmaker and a winner. So a bravo to all.

But maintaining the rigour and integrity of our panel process is vital. It’s what ensures that every laurel, every nomination, and every award from WISFFF truly means something. We owe that to every filmmaker — those progressing onwards in WISFFF and those still on their journey.

So, to all our entrants: thank you for trusting us with your worlds. You’ve filled our screens (and our hearts) with wonder, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

– Entries closed, Round 1 selection is complete, graphics and admin for announcement ongoing, and that means it’s time to raise a new banner! 🌕✨

Right now, we’re kicking back at a Jungle Moon Spaceport, sipping "Centauri Sunrises" while the next round warps into progress and venue dates get locked in.

- Here it is - the final Post the Posters of the 2025 season! Festival entries close tonight (27th September), so soak up this last burst of poster eye-candy while you can. Bold, stylish, and evocative—each one sparking its own mood and, if you look closely, nodding to the legacy of film posters that came before.

A reminder to all of us filmmakers (inc yours-truly): your film poster is never “just an afterthought.” It’s a vital part of the journey—your first handshake with an audience, a calling card at funding pitches, the hook that gets bums on seats, or the click that brings someone to your film online. A strong poster literally opens doors. All the posters in the "posttheposters" showcases show just how powerful that window into a film can be.
