We believe that singing in our own language connects the performers and the audience to the drama onstage, and enhances the experience for all. We bring our productions to the widest possible audience, whether at the London Coliseum, nationally or internationally. 📣Einstein on the Beach arrives May 2027, in a new spectacular experiential adaptation at Aviva Studios.

Improbable’s Phelim McDermott joins forces with an award-winning design team. Featuring the Chorus of ENO and Kantos Chamber Choir in a major vocal collaboration, the production brings together a vast cast of singers, musicians and movement artists on an epic scale.

Commissioned and Produced by English National Opera, Factory International, Park Avenue Armory and Improbable (in association with Scene and Heni Koenigsberg Productions LLC).
In partnership with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

We're proud to share that Dead Man Walking has won the Achievement in Opera Award at the Critics' Circle Awards 🎉

This recognition celebrates our acclaimed production of Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally's powerful opera, directed by Annilese Miskimmon and conducted by Kerem Hasan.

Since premiering at the London Coliseum in November 2025, Dead Man Walking has resonated with audiences and critics alike through its gripping storytelling, emotional depth and exploration of justice, redemption and humanity.

Meet the artists joining our new Creative Incubator programme.

The inaugural cohort brings together three exceptional creatives: Stefanie Reynolds, an award-winning screenwriter and playwright; Thandanani (Thanda) Gumeda, a composer, vocalist and multidisciplinary artist; and Matthew Rawcliffe, an inclusive dance artist and choreographer.

The Creative Incubator will provide space and opportunity for North West-based opera, music, theatre, film, and visual artists to create original work.

These artists will be the first to benefit from the year-long development programme, receiving dedicated workshop and rehearsal space, mentoring, financial support, creative and business skills training, as well as learning, shadowing, and collaborative opportunities with the support of ENO and the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music.

As Jennie McCusker, ENO's Executive Director of Creative Engagement, said: "The Creative Incubator creates the space, time and support for artists to explore new ideas, build new collaborations, and test what opera might become."

We're excited to see how Stefanie, Thanda and Matthew use this opportunity to experiment, take creative risks and bring fresh perspectives to opera.

A look inside the rehearsal room for Annilese Miskimmon's new production of Puccini's gripping thriller, Tosca.

'ENO’s 2026/27 Season brings together stories of resistance, resilience and the search for freedom. I am delighted to present this new production of Puccini’s Tosca alongside its sister production, Adriana Mater, and to explore both works through a contemporary lens. Tosca is one of opera’s most iconic characters, and I look forward to placing her at the centre of her own story by revealing the urgent relevance of Puccini’s opera for audiences today.' – Annilese Miskimmon
