Apologies for the radio silence, the run-up to Christmas turned out to be very very busy. Here’s a collage of the last few months as well as some treasured 2025 projects as I look back on the year just gone.
It started out as a very tough year work-wise and creatively, but through some thoughtful recalibration it ended on something of a high note 😄 I don’t want to go into a blow-by-blow of circumstances, but I do want to list the various areas of my endeavours and point out some highlights.
First off, .recording.days is going strong. I restructured my original Drop-In Recording Days in the Autumn to bring the price point as low as possible without sacrificing my signature sound and video quality, and it’s proved a hit! It has always been my philosophy to provide an affordable but rock-solid and great-sounding service to the singing community, and through LRD that mission continues to thrive, now with two distinct offerings that have each found their own client base… no, community 🥰
This year also saw a big uptick in my workshop and lecture work. I was invited to work with the singers from the Queen Sonja Singing Competition Opera Academy as well as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I also gave a presentation to the Opera Europa AVD Forum in Madrid on how I approach producing audition tapes. I’d love to do more in this space in future!
I want to highlight two 2025 releases that I had a hand in producing: Quatre chansons de jeunesse with and .mourier.piano, and 3 Songs of Mary with .gregg and - both available to stream :)
I am immensely grateful to the hundreds of singers and multiple companies who continue to have faith in what I do. I get to work with exceptionally talented musicians, have a hand in guiding artists through the recording process and how it fits into a wider career, and also record/film some stunning performances and projects. Lucky me :)
Here’s to more in 2026!
