THE MAY ISSUE IS OUT NOW

As the initial shock at the outcome of last November's presidential election gives way to outrage, this issue turns to art not as escape, but as resistance. Lotus L. Kang, our cover artist, reflects on living in-between histories and geographies in a profile by Simon Wu. In conversation, Nairy Baghramian and Julie Mehretu frame friendship as resilience and art as a way forward. Our dossier highlights three New York galleries - Francis Irv, Soft Network, and Kaje - reimagining the art space amid chaos. Our world is a mess, and it will get messier, but art can still do something about it.

Available now online and in-stores. Hit the link in bio.
