Are you a circus artist, coach, or healthcare professional working with individuals who have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)?

Join Chartered physiotherapist Bethany Shum (), in this 3 hour workshop, designed specifically to help you understand the impact of hypermobility on circus performers and how to manage it to optimize performance, reduce injury risk, and enhance longevity in the profession.

Hypermobility can present unique challenges in circus arts, where extreme flexibility is both a necessity and a potential risk factor for injury. EDS/HSD can increase the likelihood of dislocations, sprains, and chronic pain. By attending this workshop, you will not only gain knowledge but also practical solutions to help you or your athletes perform safely and effectively over the long term.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to optimize your training, support your career in circus arts, and manage hypermobility safely.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] After current CEO, Kate White, announced her departure at the end of last year, we are delighted to introduce Dan Cowdrill, who will be stepping into the role in early September.

Dan has worked in the arts, heritage and museum sector for over 20 years and may seem a familiar face, as for the last three years, he’s been part the senior management team, overseeing the commercial and external relations function at the National Centre.

Chair of the Board, Ali King says “the Trustees and I are very excited about this appointment, and we are very confident that Dan will provide a safe yet exciting pair of hands to keep us moving forward. He cares very much about the future of the National Centre and all the students, staff, participants, professional artists, alumni, partners, and stakeholders that engage with us. We look forward to working with him as we enter this next chapter.”

Dan formally takes up his new role on the 1st September and there will be more updates in the Autumn on the opportunities to hear from him around his vision for the next few years.

The UK's only Circus CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) programme presents 'The Photographer'.

A photographer is ready to finally exhibit their life’s work – a photographic exhibition of the greatest circus performers of all time but disaster has struck and the images have be irretrievably lost. Fortunately for them there is a travelling company of very capable but slightly disorganised circus artists in this very building – can they pull it together in time and recreate images ready for the private view in an hours time?

Bringing together participants from , , , , and our own National Centre for Circus Arts, don't miss your chance to see these young people take centre stage.
