🎬✨ Black Cinema Film Nights Launch as part of our World Cinema Film Nights! ✨🎬

As part of our World Film Nights series, we’re proud to launch Black Cinema Film Nights — a celebration of storytelling, resistance, and brilliance through the lens of Black filmmakers.

Join us this Saturday, 1 November at 6:30 PM for our opening screening: Spike Lee’s iconic Do the Right Thing — a vibrant, provocative masterpiece that still speaks powerfully to the heart of community, identity, and justice.

Over the coming months, we’ll continue this journey with:
📽️ 6 Dec — Moonlight (R)
📽️ 10 Jan — The Hate U Give (15)
📽️ 7 Feb — Creed (PG13)

Each film explores the strength, beauty, and complexity of Black lives — from the intimate to the epic, from personal growth to collective struggle. Black cinema inspires us because it doesn’t just entertain — it reveals truth, challenges perception, and gives voice to stories that shape our culture and our humanity.

🍷 The Source café will be open — come early, grab a drink, and connect with others who love great cinema.

Monday, October 27 · 7 - 9pm GMT

About this event:

This exhibition is on the 75th Anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights Council of Europe In 1949, in the aftermath of World War Il, the world yearned for peace like never before. The devastation of the war had made it clear that a new path forward was essential. In response, the nations of Europe came together to form the Council of Europe, with a shared mission to promote human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. This historic moment was solidified by the signing of the Treaty of London on 5th May 1949, marking a new era of cooperation and commitment to a more just and peaceful future.

The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) signed in Rome on 4 November 1950, has been celebrated throughout 2025 with various international events, including the UK Parliament Members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords marking the anniversary in early 2025, celebrating the ECHR's role in protecting rights and its lasting contribution to British law, particularly through the Human Rights Act 1998.
