AFRICAN WOMAN, REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!
Before anyone told you what you could or could not become, African women had already commanded armies, defended kingdoms, challenged empires and shaped the destiny of nations.
Remember Yaa Asantewaa of Ghana, who stood against colonial domination.
Remember the Agojie of Benin Republic, the formidable women warriors of Dahomey.
Remember Queen Amina of Zazzau, whose name remains a symbol of leadership and courage.
Remember Queen Nzinga of Angola, who defended her people's sovereignty through diplomacy and resistance.
These women were not waiting for permission to make history. They became part of history.
Today, we celebrate them. But more importantly, we celebrate YOU — the African woman of today.
The woman raising children against all odds.
The woman building a business from nothing.
The woman preserving her culture.
The woman rebuilding after disappointment.
The woman breaking barriers in education, leadership, science, agriculture and every sphere of life.
You do not have to carry a sword to be a warrior.
Your courage, your sacrifices, your determination and your dreams are part of the continuing African story.
Never allow the challenges of today to make you forget the greatness of the women who came before you.
