A Vision Is Not a Bulldozer
The recent debate surrounding The Albanian Files, The Albanian Calls and the Bread & Heart Festival raises questions that extend far beyond a book, a documentary or a festival.
It raises a larger question: What is architecture?
Is it merely an instrument of power; or is it society’s way of thinking before acting?
These ten pages are a synopsis of a broader reflection by the organisers of the Bread & Heart Festival, a contribution to that conversation. Not a point-by-point rebuttal, but a reflection on architecture, public debate, international collaboration, political leadership, transparency, and the responsibility of imagining before building. Because a drawing is not a building; a sketch is not a permit; and a vision is certainly not a bulldozer.
We welcome disagreement. We simply believe that disagreement deserves distinctions.
