Liars' League London

Liars' League London Liars' League is an award-winning, long-running bimonthly fiction night: pro actors read new writers.

We have sister organisations in New York City and Hong Kong, and our readings have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Events are held every second Tuesday of every other month at The Phoenix, Cavendish Square, London, and entry is £5. (Except during Covid, when we’re online and free!)

All stories are videoed and audio recorded, and put online along with the original text at our website, www.liarsleague.com. Short story submissions of 800-2000 words are welcomed, and you can find our currently open themes here: https://www.liarsleague.com/liars_league/forthcoming-events-themes.html

"Listen up. If you’re trying to get a man gone, you got to know a few things first. The first thing you got to know is: is he a bad man? The definition of ‘bad’ can change depending on who you are and what you’ve been through. So ask yourself:
- Did he run over your dog when he drove home drunk after poker night with the boys?
- Did he f**k your sister while you were at the hospital sick and delirious with the flu?
- Did his jealousy suffocate you like a cloak of sticky, wet heat in the middle of a southern summer?"

HOW TO GET YOUR MAN GONE by Rebecca Marcel, read by Katy Darby, is a crime monologue/instruction manual a gal won't want to miss ... This story was recorded at the Liars' League event on Tue 4 Aug 2026 at The Phoenix, Cavendish Square

A FRIGHTFULLY AWKWARD MURDER by Amy Eddings, read by actress Miranda Harrison, is a loving homage to the works of Golden Age crime writers with an Christie-esque final twist.

This story was recorded at the Liars' League event on Tue 4 Aug 2026. (NB the video may look a little guerrilla, because The Phoenix flooded and so we had to decamp and move the whole event to the absolutely awesome and very kind Explorer pub across the street!)
