The wait is over… 👻 Our new contest is live!

Introducing The Haunting Season: a special edition Reedsy Prompts contest. Writers around the world have a whole month to work on a story in response to a single spooky prompt.

The prompt? “Write a story about a character who is haunted by someone or something.”

Submit your entry between 2,000 to 5,000 words and stand a chance to win $1,500 and publication in our literary magazine, Prompted.

You don’t need to put your characters in mortal danger to make readers worry.

Sometimes the stakes are a friendship they could lose or a belief they’re forced to compromise.

The key is making the consequence feel personal. The bigger it matters to the character, the bigger it will feel to the reader.

🖋️ And if you’re looking for a place to raise the stakes of your novel, you can try Reedsy Studio here: https://reedsy.com/studio
