Lusine's (Lusine / Jeff McIlwain) 10th album is up for stream/download today with vinyl and J-CD (PLANCHA (Oshi Kunii)) soon to follow. US dates begin at PUBLIC RECORDS this weekend. 🎼: "Apparition"

Writer Stephan Kunze declares it amongst the best new ambient music:

"The evenings are slowly getting shorter, and the first families are returning from their long vacations. Since we know that these hot, humid days will soon be nothing more than a vague memory, we’re rushing to make the most of them. And by rushing, I mean finally taking this trip to the lake and not putting it off again.

After venturing into a more song-oriented branch of electronic pop, Lusine returns to instrumental ambient with his tenth album, Melting Days – a work that invites repeated listening, and whose captivating sonic textures and organic sound design never overshadow its subtle emotional depth."

Ghostly turns 27 years old this week and I was at a loss for what to post. Then, out of the blue, a friend sent this B+ (B+) photo of Official J Dilla I'd never seen before which must date to the famed photographer's 2003 Detroit shoot for the Jaylib (shout out stonesthrow) project Dilla did with Madlib.

There on his flight case is a Ghostly sticker which Dabrye and I must have given him when we visited to work on Dabrye's "Game Over" with the great Ron Watts. It's a small thing, maybe a nothing, but a reminder of all the little moments in music that seem insignificant but are lasting, all the people you meet, and moments shared. It all counts even when no one tells you so.

To all the musicians, fans, DJs, visual artists, photographers, engineers, mixers, promoters, writers, editors, dancers, bloggers, project managers, project coordinators, marketers, gossipers, scalpers, merch slingers, bartenders, sound jerks, bootleggers, haters, lovers, punishers, lowlifes, sweeties, snobs, hangers-on, gatekeepers, zealots, try-hards, dreamers, kiss-ups, wannabes, should-bes, could-bes, and you, Thank You for making this a creative world worth living in and fighting for.

one year with TOPS • BAND’ Bury the Key, their first full-length with Ghostly International. A captivating reintroduction for the Montréal band: ever refined, undoubtedly masters of their melodic craft yet unafraid of evolving and testing themselves against different, at times darker tones.

20 years of Dabrye's (Dabrye) dark magnum opus, Two / Three (GI-50). Remaining copies on our site and Bandcamp.

Tadd Mullinix first made a name for himself as Dabrye in the early 2000s with a pair of instrumental albums combining the rhythmic finesse of Detroit hip-hop with the ingenuity of electronic music. But instrumental beats were only a temporary goal, a way for Mullinix to catch the ears of MCs. On Two/Three, his second Dabrye album for Ghostly International, Mullinix brought together a formidable crew of local and national talent to make the statement he’d always intended. Released in Summer 2006, Two/Three offered a fevered vision of rap’s future that remains just as intoxicating two decades on.

The first single emerged in 2004 with "Game Over’ featuring Jay Dee (later, J Dilla) and Phat Kat. An early inspiration of Dabrye’s, Dilla invited Mullinix to his studio in 2002 for a listening session during which he picked the ‘Game Over’ beat to rap over.

Moody, propulsive, and above all, ambitious, Two/Three featured MCs such as MF Doom, Wildchild, Vast Aire, Beans, and AG as well as Detroit area MCs Waajeed, Ta-Raach, Invincible, Finale, Kadence, Guilty Simpson, Big Tone, Phat Kat, and J Dilla (then, Jay Dee). Dabrye showcases detailed instrumentals that evoke bleak industrial futures, underwater meditations, and smoky late night sessions.

25 years of an American electronic classic - announcing a deluxe Obi reissue for Fahrenheit Fair Enough, out September 18, 2026.

Released in 2001 on the seminal Chicago label, Hefty Records, ’s Fahrenheit Fair Enough was a watershed album for experimental electronic music. Then New Orleans musicians Joshua Eustis and the late Charlie Cooper created a classic that sits at the edges of IDM, jazz, and bass music, influencing a new generation of artists (Loraine James, Kelly Moran, etc.). Now, the long-out-of-print album finally returns.

The 2xLP features a new Watercolor variant and a detachable paper Obi exclusive to this pressing. Swipe to see a note from Eustis on the occasion. Link in bio to pre-order.
