An imaginative bunch ❤️

This was the 4th Thought Experiment Writing Workshop, in which I shared my creative process and, as a team, we generated many new ideas.

I like the metaphor of cooking when it comes to thought experiment writing:
First you gather your ingredients (expansive brainstorming)
Then you choose a few of them to be the central focus of your dish 🧑‍🍳 (picking sub themes)
And then you cook, stirring things together, adding fire and spices, seeing what emerges (collective imagination, improv-style co-writing, playfulness)

Unlike cooking, with this process, you can’t have too many cooks. The more minds, the more ingredients, and the more alchemical power to flip things upside down and introduce twists.

When I arranged the first of these workshops my aim was to support guest authors and share a few ideas, now I love them as a collective activity (just as much as a regular TEiP night).

Reminiscing 😌

I’ve been sick in bed for a week. Eyes-closed, curled up like a burrito. The silver lining: plentiful time to reflect, remember, and allow new ideas.

This was our second TEiP (Thought Experiments in Public) Party in the Park of 2026… when we really got into the swing of outdoor gathering and built momentum for the first TEiP Day Retreat.

I’m really looking forward to the second TEiP Day Retreat on October 11th.
We will have an even bigger line up of creative workshops than last time, and (if the forest fairies are cooperating) Autumn leaves in Autumn sunshine 🌞🍂

Last night’s special collaboration opened different conversations about “DEBATE”

This was part 1 of THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBLIC x Debate London where Debate London visited TEiP to take a somewhat meta look at the topic of “debate” through three original thought experiments co-written by Bonny & Jess.

Our conversations touched on conviction, law, dating, gender polarity, race, and responsibility…all in the thoughtful, openminded, and curious spirit that we cultivate and treasure at TEiP events.

We can’t wait for part 2 where TEiP will visit Debate London to continue some of the conversations, play fun debating games, and experience first hand some of the debate dynamics discussed yesterday 😊

What would you add? 💭

This is some of my and my brother’s thinking on the theme of “CHANGE” (I love a collaborative brainstorm).

I’m now transforming these thoughts into thought experiments - tiny stories that raise big questions - for us to discuss at tomorrow evening’s event.

The season is changing and we are returning to our OG pub, The Earl of Lonsdale, once a month for “TEiP ON THE HOUSE”: the big, free, Friday night edition of Thought Experiments in Public.

A new TEiP treasure 📖

At last week’s TEiP Day Retreat, we started co-creating a Book of Wisdom.

I think ‘collective wisdom’ is one of the defining features of our events. By listening to other people’s perspectives with open, curious minds, we get to see the world from more angles and generate a more nuanced picture of reality.

The TEiP (Thought Experiments in Public*) community is extremely diverse. Our youngest members are teenagers, our oldest members are nonagenarians. People come from all over the world, with different upbringings, faiths, ideologies, identities, and views…

So when they come together to exchange views on big topics like ‘LOVE’, ‘FREEDOM’, ‘UNCERTAINTY’ (etc.), we have a rare opportunity to benefit from an extremely wide range of experiences and perspectives. I believe that the thoughtful listening and sharing that happens at TEiP events makes us all a little wiser.

This book is a continuation of that spirit of curiosity. It is already off to a good start, and I’ll be bringing it to future events so that it can continue to evolve.

I’m looking forward to sharing excerpts here, and to reading more community wisdom in the book and in the comments.
