When Newspapers Come to Life and the Forest Floor Becomes a StageThe continuation brought a dynamic and engaging “forest show” titled NOVICE / NOTIZEN / THE NEWS, which uniquely combined sign-dance, contemporary puppetry, and jazz-soul music in a lively outdoor performance.The performers skillfully swayed through whirlwinds of oversized newspapers directly among the spectators. This international group of creators—Signdance Collective, Signdance Europe, Transmitter Performance from Austria, and Slovenian puppeteer Barbara Bulatović—transformed the forest space into a poetic landscape.The unusual interplay of movement and dance with large sheets of newsprint triggered a wave of enthusiasm among the Bresternica audience, as people watched with fascination how the dancers’ bodies merged with the natural environment while simultaneously defying the rhythm of modern information. 73 Degree Films Henry Henry Barbara Bulatović
