Whether you’ve been dancing all your life or have never danced before, KCL Dance Society has something for you! As proud winners of the prestigious KCLSU “Activity Group of the Year” Award 2015/16, we are the biggest and best society at King's College London! At KCL Dance Soc we run 16 classes a week in various styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Swing, Commercial, Burlesque, Zumba,
Hip Hop and Salsa! Whether you're a total beginner, or have been dancing for years, you are welcome to come along. Weekly classes are £5 for non members and £2 for members (a price you'll find hard to match in London) and all of our teachers are vastly experienced. In addition to this we run our weekly workshop on Thursdays (the style of which changes every week), which is a great way to try out styles you have always wanted to do or never even knew existed! In the second term we run rehearsals for our annual dance show, the biggest Dance Soc event of the year, held at the Greenwood Theatre. With over 150 dancers participating, this is an incredible opportunity for dancers and choreographers of all levels to perform, make friends and show the King's College London community just what we can do! Our 2017show 'Wonderland' raised money for our charities ICanDance, Parkinson's Can Dance and The Robes Project. KCL Fusion, our award winning competition team, travel around the country to compete against other universities and represent Kings nationally. We are always looking for strong dancers and choreographers to lead us to victory! We won an incredible 22 trophies in 2016/17, and hope to beat that record in the coming competition season. If you are a passionate dancer and would like to represent your university by competing nationally, do not miss our auditions. We have some truly amazing dancers in our Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Wildcard teams!! We also have great volunteering, fundraising and social opportunities.
