The New Musical Traditions Club The New Musical Traditions Club aims to present the finest traditional singers from Britain and Ireland. 2nd Sunday, Sep-Dec and Feb-May.

Alder Bar, Neeps End, Sheffield. https://linktr.ee/newmustrad The New Musical Traditions Club is a spiritual successor to The Musical Traditions Club of London. Our main aim is to showcase the best of the great carrying stream of traditional song, music, dance and storytelling from the UK, Ireland and beyond. We host double headline gig nights and open song sessions. On a gig night the opening artist originates from or is still working strongly within a traditional form. The following act is an artist who taken inspiration from traditional form to forge their own creative identity. The sessions have an emphasis on solo performance of song, tune, dance or story with a preference for traditional repertoire but are open to all abilities. It is our belief that traditional performing arts have the ability to provide beautiful, genuinely life affirming experiences for both performers and audiences. As a club we aim to promote these forms and make them available to all.

We'll be back at Alder in September with a Sold Out night from Eliza Carthy and Taffy Thomas, followed by Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne and Thomas McCarthy in October. See you soon!

“Jeff Warner is among America’s foremost performers/interpreters of traditional music“

Once seen never forgotten, Jeff and his family have perhaps done more for traditional music in America than anyone else. At the age of 83 we are incredibly lucky to have a performance from Jeff on his final ever UK visit.

Jeff is sharing the bill with Peter and Barbara Snape, researchers and powerful singers of the hugely varied repertoire of their native North West England.

DO NOT MSS OUT! Book your tickets now or forever hold your peace! You will not regret it…
