A little peak into the studio of Sister Octopi collaborator

Yarn, threads, squeegees, embroidered plastic, gouache on photography and many other treasures are hiding away in Natalya’s den. Always a delight to discover and explore the quirky corners of the places where the magic happens. One of the latest addition to Sister Octopi installation: the scroll inspired by tectonic plates and subterranean geological shifts. As the scroll unfolded the patterns evolve into a cartography reminiscing of fjords and icy shores. May be a nod to a small but revered part of our ancestry….

One thing that Natalya and I share is our experience of expatriation and the kind of rootlessness that comes with years of living abroad…where do you feel home if you always pick up and move? This is probably why we live in Dubai and London, two cosmopolitan cities where we can meet so many people from different backgrounds and multifaceted identities and find our tribe.
