8 Years Ago Today—Our Dream Came True.

On this day 8 years ago, Circus Abyssinia was born—the first-ever Ethiopian circus created by Ethiopians, for Ethiopians.

What started as a dream has grown into a movement. Since that first show, we’ve completed two world tours, performed for over 800,000 people across the globe, and most importantly helped create real opportunities for many Ethiopian artists to perform, grow, and inspire.

There have been challenges, highs and lows, but every step has been worth it. We’re still going strong—and we’re not done yet!

This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of so many people: the artists, companies, friends, and partners who’ve believed in us and stood by us through it all. Thank you for helping make this dream a reality.

We’re proud to continue this journey tomorrow, bringing our show to the stage of the iconic Chicago Shakespeare Theater once again, in one of our favourite cities in the world.
