Happy Disability Pride Month from all of us at Orisun Productions 🧡

This July, and every month, we celebrate the creativity, resilience and achievements of disabled artists, audiences and communities. We also recognise the work of those who have challenged barriers, fought for equal opportunities and continue to push for a more inclusive future.

This year’s Disability Pride Month theme, “The World Works Better With Us,” reminds us that when disabled people are included and empowered, everyone benefits. Inclusion isn’t an afterthought; it’s essential to creating richer, more vibrant and more representative arts and communities.

Supporting and celebrating British Caribbean storytellers is at the heart of what we do!

It was a pleasure to see our founder, Shereener Browne, with playwright Tia-Renee Mullings following the closing performance of A to B at Soho Theatre.

Congratulations to Tia, the cast, creative team and everyone who brought A to B to life. We can’t wait to see what’s next. 👏🏾❤️

We recently sat down with our community to discuss The Windrush Prize and why our representation matters!

It was a powerful and necessary conversation and it made a few things clear:

* More stories from the Caribbean diaspora deserve space on stage
* Caribbean playwrights and non-playwrights need to know they can be seen, heard, and championed in this space
* There is real appetite for authentic, community led storytelling

This is exactly why The Windrush Prize exists🧡
