He most recently ran his eponymous gallery in New York, where he exhibited an international roster of emerging and mid-career artists. Taymour placed artists’ works into major museum collections worldwide, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Guggenheim Museum, New York; The British Museum, London; Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), California; Smithsonian Institution, Wa
shington DC; The Nasher Museum of Art, Duke University, North Carolina and The Newark Museum, New Jersey, among others. He presented ambitious, challenging, and rigorous exhibitions which garnered reviews in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, The Brooklyn Rail, The Financial Times, WhiteWall Magazine, and Hyperallergic, among others. Taymour received an MA in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and prior to that graduated from Boston University with a BA in International Relations. He has spoken about the art world at various panels, including at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College and Artsy Headquarters. Taymour is a member of the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA); one of The Independents at Independent Curators International (ICI); is a Chisenhale Gallery patron; a Tate Young Patron; a friend of Bidoun; and is on the Guggenheim Young Collectors Council (YCC) Acquisition Committee.
