Alton Towers is so much better at night. The whole park looks incredible but my favourite area at night is around The Curse at Alton Manor.

Alton Towers opens today for it's first day of the main season. Rides should be open from 10am until 8pm meaning the return of the after dark event which is a firm favourite with many visitors. What ride are you most looking forward to getting on during your next Alton Towers visit?

Alton Towers has announced for the rest of the 2026 season platinum pass holders can enter the park via the entrance near the hotels. This is only available to platinum pass holders and not other pass types. Full details are below.

"✨Good news! ✨

For the rest of the year, Platinum Passholders can enter the Alton Towers Resort through the Short Breaks entrance (by Galactica) for their visit. 🎢

The gate will open this weekend for use at 9:30am.

THORPE PARK Official has officially announced that Rumba Rapids will be leaving the park. Whilst the park will still have a selection of water rides I personally feel this is an attraction that could have stayed with a refurbishment. I'm sure the park has some exciting plans for the area which I look forward to seeing.

It's been a year since Oakwood Theme Park announced that they would not reopen. The owners of Wales only theme park have been removing rides over the last 12 months, to send to other parks owned by Aspro Parks.

The park was my first visit to a theme park as a child and became the start of many years of theme park adventures, making new friends and memories.

From the amazing wooden coaster Megafobia to the magical Neverland for the youngsters, Oakwood had something for all the family.

It's a huge loss to Wales and many theme park enthusiasts from all over. A park that needed investment in many areas in its final years which we started to see with the partial retrack of Megafobia and a new entrance to the park.

The closure came as an unexpected announcement and the park will be missed by many for years to come.

Pleasurewood Hills has confirmed that Cannonball Express will remain closed for the 2026 season whilst looking at all options for the rollercoasters future. The full statement is below

"We’ve got an important update to share 💙

For the 2026 season, Cannonball Express will be taking a break from operation.

We are currently exploring all options, everything from new trains to track colours and assessing what would be required to bring the ride back in the best possible way.

As part of that process, we need to carefully review the investment and ensure it’s the right decision for the long-term future of the ride and the park.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a pause while we properly evaluate the next steps.

We’ll keep you updated as plans develop, and there’s still plenty to look forward to in 2026 💫"
