🥳NEW SHOW🥳

We are very excited to announce our new Spanish-language production: King Lear! Declan and Nick are returning to work with the same ensemble of actors from Life is a Dream and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, joined by Lluís Homar in the titular role.

King Lear—Rey Lear—will premiere February 2027 at Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Malaga and go on to perform at Teatro de la Abadia in Madrid.

King Lear is a co-production between Cheek by Jowl, Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, and LAZONA, in collaboration with the Teatro de la Abadía and Teatro Alcázar.

"Exact and vibrant...perfection"

We were delighted to bring our production of Medea to Madrid this past week, performing at the Teatros del Canal. This visit marks the third year in a row where we have brought work to Canal, and the first time they have hosted our Bulgarian company.

El Pais described the production as "exact and vibrant" - we agree! Thank you to all who came and saw the production.

CRAIOVA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

In one month's time, on 28 May, our production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona will perform at the International Shakespeare Festival of Craiova, Romania. We have a long history of bringing work to the festival, going as far back to the inaugural edition of 1994, and we can't wait to share this work with our Romanian audiences.
