✍🏾📝 Call for Submissions: The ANS Archives presents: The Worldbuilders

Who are the creatives imagining, designing and constructing new worlds? For the first theme in our ongoing series exploring the archetypes shaping African art and design, we’re looking for articles centred on The Worldbuilders.

This theme explores the practice of designing physical/digital worlds and spaces, from spatial designers and creative technologists to speculative thinkers and Afrofuturist creatives.

We’re interested in stories about:

• Worldbuilding in African art and design
• Spaces that shape culture and identity
• Imagined and future African worlds
• Digital environments and emerging technologies
• Creatives redefining how we experience place

Whether you’re writing about a creative, movement, exhibition, project, space, or idea (past or present) we’d love to hear from you.

📩 Submit your article to: [email protected]
📝 Subject line: The Worldbuilders
📖 Word count: 1250 words maximum
⏳ Deadline: Monday 15th June 2026

Accepted articles will be published in June - July.
