Thanks to all our 90s ravers who joined us for another trip back in time last night at Malvern Cube!

Such great energy on the dancefloor once again and still so much emotion stored up in all of those amazing tunes.

A real shock and a nice surprise to see my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding venue themildmayclub in Taylor Swift’s new music video today!

Especially thrilling for my daughter to see her dancing in the spot where she’d been playing the piano and I was then DJing last September, after our run of Taylor Swift DJ nights the year before.

She clearly has a keen eye for a gorgeous and well-loved retro dancehall and I reckon it was the shimmer curtain that will have swung it for her too!

An utterly brilliant night of 90s tunes and a incredible atmosphere with a fantastic crowd at Malvern Cube last night, full of energy and emotion.

It felt like being right back on a dancefloor in the mid-90s and I only regret not catching enough video clips as I just couldn't keep still.

Plenty of tracks that I didn't get to mix in so I think we'll have to do it again sometime!

Thanks so much to everyone who was there for making just so much fun and please do post any other videos you took here too!

We had another fantastic New Year's Eve at The Cottage In The Wood last night, with a wonderful atmosphere from the off, plus impressive energy and moves on the dancefloor from all of our guests and staff too.

A huge thanks to everyone we've partied with in 2025 and here's looking forward to much more dancing, food and fun in 2026.

A special congratulations to Jeff and Jane who were also celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary once th eclock struck twelve, for whom we finished the night with their very apt wedding song, Dina Carroll's 'The Perfect Year'.

As I said at the end of the night, the best parties are those where the hosts are on the dancefloor as much as possible, focussing and driving the energy of the crowd along with them, and Penny was the hostess that gave the mostess at her fabulous birthday party last Saturday.

The hall was full of love as a huge number of wonderful friends came together to celebrate one of the loveliest and smiliest people they know.

Thanks for throwing such a lively and joyful birthday bash Penny and, going by the response from your friends, see you at another party sometime soon for even more dancing and fun!

“I can't thank you enough - it was fabulous and the music was perfect, exactly what I wanted!!”

Rosie's birthday absolutely rocked last weekend and together, just like she wanted, we really brought back the same blend of heaviness, playfulness and joy as those late TNT rock club DJ nights at The Marrs Bar that she used to love so much.

Great news this week for any couples wishing to hold their marriage ceremony somewhere out in the wild -

www.gov.uk/government/news/major-boost-to-economy-through-wedding-law-reform

This change means that ceremonies need no longer be tethered to a religious building and that a celebrant can host a service almost anywhere.

And it just so happens that I love nothing more than playing beautiful music wonderfully loud with my battery-powered speakers, which can provide crystal-clear microphone amplification too, whether up on a cliff, out on a beach or down in a cave.

The incredible audio on this video from Jake and Theone’s Summer Solstice wedding is playing on a stereo pair of speakers which I’m controlling here from my phone which was set into a hollowed-out hardback book.

So I can’t wait to see where people might like to get married in the next few years and what stunning locations we can bring to life with magical music.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of helping to recreate the atmosphere and excitement of an underground 90s warehouse rave for an 18th birthday party.

I was blown away by the quality and sincerity of the requests and how the old-school tracks were received on the dancefloor, proving that the dance music of 30 years ago still gives that edge and energy for today’s teens too. Seeing the youngsters discover this music for themselves, lose their inhibitions on the haze-filled dancefloor and find the same sense of abandon in the same heavy dance music that I did in my youth, was a reassuring and life-affirming joy to witness.

With a list of requests that included The Prodigy, Orbital, Underworld, Massive Attack, The Shamen, Basement Jaxx, The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada, Fatboy Slim, Faithless, DJ Zinc, Shy FX, Roni Size, Aphrodite and A Guy Called Gerald, I felt very at home indeed and really enjoyed getting playful in the mix, bringing in some more recent gems when it felt right too.

As I don’t record at such events, here are some favourite unexpected moments;

Mixing out of Fein (request) into Pinegrove’s Need 2 but seeing the passion remain the same was gorgeous, as was the response to the mix from DnB into Metronomy’s The Look at the same BPM.

The cheer of delight when I mixed in The Cure’s Lovesong brought tears to my eyes as did the beautiful reaction to the last track of the night being Mazzy Star’s Fade Into You.
