IMPORTANT UPDATE AND SAFETY ADVICE

At present we are working closely with the police to assist in their investigation into last weekend's tragic events that sadly led to the death of a young male who passed away in hospital after attending our venue on Friday night.

We have agreed with the police that will be closed until 11th August 2021. This is to allow for correct due diligence to be carried out and to ensure that we can implement a sensible, heightened response in our operational procedures in order to ensure that we are doing as much as possible to be able to reduce the risk of any repetition occurring.

If you have purchased a ticket for this or last weekend, we have emailed ticket holders with options and details of rescheduled dates.

We are absolutely devastated by what has happened and our thoughts are with the friends and family, a young man whilst not known to us personally, appeared loved within the dance music community.

Whilst the investigation is still underway, we want to warn anyone who is going out this weekend to look out for themselves, their friends and fellow clubbers. There have been numerous reports of dangerous and high strength drugs in circulation leading to hospitalisations across the UK over the last week.

A lot of the media coverage is focused on Blue Tesla pills, but we have also heard reports about Red Ferrari's and dangerous, possibly synthetic ketamine across the country.

We want to make it understood that if you are in our venue we will respond to any concerns you have about the safety of yourself or anyone else with care and attention. We are not here to judge you and truly want you to have a great, safe, night out. If you are concerned for the welfare yourself or anyone else please let a member of the welfare, staff, or security team know, we're on your side and will provide the best assistance we can.

As a result of this incident we are not looking to shy away from what has happened and aim to re-open in the full spirit of The Cause to tackle these issues, and are currently programming a fundraiser on Sunday 15th August, where we hope to raise money for a harm reduction charity by donating all of our ticket income to The Loop - a drugs awareness and harm reduction organisation.

Boris Johnson will be heard in parliament TODAY.

PLEASE take this seriously. Our industry is being framed as the devil during this pandemic.

Our venues have been operating safely since the pandemic.

We adapted quickly, invested in more space, infrastructure, staff training and have done everything to survive in a Covid Safe manner.

Despite all this we have been consistently targeted to a point that feels like harassment.

Over the August bank holiday week we had nearly 20 visits from various police departments and have had visits almost weekly since.

Every single time they have left satisfied with our operation, yet a week later we have another visit as 'someone has reported us'.

Something does not add up here.

Why are your resources continually wasted?

Can you not invest into a solid action plan?

It honestly feels like you don't care. You are turning your back on a rich cultural heritage.

Our music industry is something we should all be proud of and needs salvaging.

The solutions are 100% out there. Since April we have spoken to multiple organisations who are offering practical ideas who are not being listened to by our Government.
you are now using these yourself?

Why the hell can't we use these to get our lives back together? Our businesses thriving? Our mental health back in order.

You are destroying us.

Please look into them, provide a framework for them to be used to open events safely.

Please please consider us in today's parliament.
