Rayanooooooo… you did it again!! 🙌🏻 It’s better than scoring a goal ⚽️ because a painting lasts forever 😉

It genuinely fills my heart to see this boy’s passion for painting. I’ve seen him go from doing sensory art play with me as a one year old, to growing up creating stunning masterpieces.

Rayan, don’t forget to invite me to your exhibition when you grow up! I’ll be your biggest fan, right after your mother. 🙌🏻

The act of creating matters more than what we create. Creativity calms our nerves, de-stress the brain, and reconnects us with ourselves. It regulates the nervous system.

Did you create something today?

Effort always pays off. Aggelos worked on this painting over 3 sessions.

After each session he could have called it “done”, but each time he chose to add another layer. Yet each time the painting improved massively!

This is the beauty of layer painting. Remember, each painting first goes through what we call “the ugly phase”. Don’t give up here! Add to it, work on layers. Add highlights and shadows. Pause, and look at your painting again with fresh eyes.

“What can I improve?” “What could be added or removed?”

I absolutely love how this painting turned out!
Well done Aggelos!

There’s something that every 2-3 year old know…

…and that is, that squeezing out paints and watching it pour is fun!

You can pour paint over a sculpture, like the fluid bears, or just straight on a canvas. It gives this gorgeous marble effect. Adding a bit of gold and glitter adds that little extra spark to the art work.

Holding space for your toddler to develop their creativity doesn’t need to be more complicated than this. In fact, the more simple you keep it with less instructions the more the kids use their self expression.

As they grow and develop they will start drawing and painting in more detail, creating clear objects “this is a flower” or “firetruck!”… but for now - allow them to just explore.

This painting is from an Imaginarium art session this morning, by a two year old artist. It’s a course built up of 10 sessions in the comfort and safety of the artists own home.

As you probably already know, there are loads of developmental benefits of art and painting. Fine motor skills, hand to eye coordination, building expressive confidence, concentration, problem solving to name a few… and this all from a moment of fun!

Why not do something creative today? Xx

Did you know that though every snowflake has so much in common, they are all individually shaped? ❄️
Frost has a stunning symmetrical design.

Just like every child is unique, as much as they wear the same school uniforms and follow the same instructions in school.

Remember to hold space for them to be themselves fully, without influence from their classmates. Build up a safe environment without criticism, for self expression.

We can’t teach kids to only colour within the lines and expect them to grow up into innovative adults thinking outside the box.

Curious creativity is so important!

Do you live in SW London (Kensington, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Battersea, Barnes, Mortlake, Richmond…)?

Does your 5-10 year old child light up from painting and is bursting with creative ideas?
Do you want help holding space for their self expression while learning new techniques?

DM me, I would love to book you in for an assessment session. Charlotta x
