Ahead of our next party here is a little introduction to one of our guests!

1.⁠ ⁠How would you describe your sound?
Twerkable deconstructed f’ed up Electro and B***y slamming Ghetto infused bangers.

2.⁠ ⁠What two tracks influenced your music?
It’s hard to pin down all my musical influences from over the years down to 2 specific tracks, however a couple of defining tunes have to be:

A) Umwelt - Overwork. Albeit somewhat understated and slow moving, this was one of the first Electro tunes that really knowingly made an impression on my musical tastes, hearing it years back whilst in the height of my Jungle era, it was the turning point that inspired me to start building a collection of Electro tunes to play out.

B) Squarepusher - Do You Know Squarepusher. This has been one of my favourite pieces of music since hearing it when I first got into producing and DJ’ing years ago. A tutor showed it to our class on the first day of music college and it was probably the first IDM tune I ever heard. It really pushed me to question how far Electronic music could go, helping expand my tastes, as until then I had only really experienced Dubstep, D&B, Grime and similar janky 2000’s era favoured tunes. I still love it to this day and would say IDM and Braindance are probably my overall top favourite genres of music, so it’s definitely had a huge impact on influencing my sounds over the years.

3.⁠ ⁠What two tracks never leave your usb?
Two tracks that seem to crop back up in multiple playlists and which I will potentially be playing on the night are ‘Ben Pest - Strict Saws’, this makes for the perfect opener to an Electro or Ghetto set and nicely sets the pace.

And also ‘Posthuman - Don’t Rush’. Another modern classic, this Acid tune is far slower and more chilled than almost 99% of everything else I ever play, yet lends itself perfectly to bridging mixes and is always fun to tempo ramp it up to silly speeds (ironically against what the name requests) whilst mashing and cutting the 303 lines into heavier tracks and creating exciting new blends. There’s something about it that works so well.

The 50th birthday of Rio Cinema was an absolute riot.

Mega props to and and of course for an excellent night. It was a privilege to be invited to take part. This is what life should be about!
