“Some believe the Earth is flat, but our world is round, and so is karma.”

Cut from the walls of his studio, Lee Quiñones’ Tablets are pages from a daily diary, where poems, phrases and passing thoughts are worked out before they become something more.

Here, a dark planet hangs over the words, a quiet reminder that what goes around comes around.

Returning to the energy of his early work, TOXIC set out to paint as he did in 1983, only to find that his style, and his tag, had evolved with him.

Spelling out NINE BACHELORS, Chaz Bojórquez builds his capital letters from thick, ridged impasto and lines them up shoulder to shoulder, like soldiers.

Among them, white flames flicker through the black, one for each bachelor, though one appears to be making a run for it. A trace of Pacific blue runs along the lower edge.

Only A few days left. ‘Growth’ by Gary Stranger closes at the end of day this Wednesday, 30th September. This is the final chance to see the exhibition at Woodbury House.

Over thirty new works fill the gallery, from large scale canvases approaching four metres to intimate solar pyrography pieces small enough to hold in one hand. The works themselves carry chalk gathered from the South Downs, colour drawn from the Sussex coast, and three decades of precision allowed to loosen, all held in one room, together, for the final few days.

‘Origin’ is a reflection on where we all came from, and the commonality shared with every living being and inanimate object alike. Everything in existence is connected, all matter tracing back to the same cosmic origin.

A piece belonging to the wall of paper works Stranger envisioned specifically for the show, twelve pieces in total, each carrying its own word and its own meaning, held together by the same consistency of brush and hand throughout.

Only a few days left to view the exhibition, 30th September is the last day to see ‘Growth’ at Woodbury House.
