AN INVITATION TO CREATE.

Vivid layers of cobalt blue, turquoise, crimson and black come together in ‘Invite’, a dynamic composition created with postcard markers, oil sticks and stencil elements on canvas. Translating TOXIC’s familiar drawing materials from paper to canvas, the work captures the spontaneity and precision of his signature style.

Created as the invitation artwork for the exhibition, ‘Invite’ revolves around the word “Constant”—a reflection of TOXIC’s belief in remaining dedicated to his practice. By experimenting with techniques he rarely uses on canvas while staying true to his visual language, the work celebrates consistency, growth and the continual evolution of craft. Exhibited alongside the original canvas, a limited edition print of Invite was created exclusively for Always Ever Since 83, echoing the original while standing as a work in its own right.

‘ALWAYS EVER SINCE 83’ by TOXIC is now on view at our flagship Mayfair gallery through 26.06.26.

FINDING NEW NOTES.

Deep violets, cobalt blues and bursts of red move across the triptych composition, creating a surface that feels fluid and expansive.

Created during a period of experimentation, the work reflects TOXIC’s desire to move beyond familiar territory. New colour relationships emerge alongside those long present in his visual language, resulting in a composition that feels like a piece of improvised music, finding its direction as it unfolds.

PLAYING TO THE UNIVERSE.

A work that captures the energy of a guitarist lost in the moment, this painting distills music into colour, movement, and memory. A vivid red hand glides across the strings, emerging from layers of deep blues, violets, and bursts of light, transforming a fleeting observation into something cosmic.

Inspired by a quiet moment spent watching a friend play, the work became less about likeness and more about presence. The face disappears, leaving only the gesture, rhythm, and emotion of the performance. It’s a reflection on how the people around us shape our creative vision, and how music and art can become an offering to something greater: a moment of playing to the universe.

LOOKING WITHIN.

The word SELF emerges from the composition in luminous turquoise hues, pushing forward through a dense field of reds, violets and deep greens. The result is a work that feels less like a statement and more like an exploration of identity.

Beyond the Letter.

Soft blues, vivid reds and warm oranges surround a luminous central form, creating a composition that feels cosmic. Shapes drift through the surface like fragments in orbit, suspended between movement and stillness.

At its centre is an exploration of the letter C, reduced to its essential form and reimagined as something active rather than static. Part study, part experiment, the work embraces a different palette and a more minimal visual language, opening up new possibilities through a single, familiar shape.

Nothing More Needed.

Soft passages of blue, green and ochre create a sense of openness across the canvas, interrupted by symbols, arrows and fragments of geometry that appear and disappear throughout the composition. Some forms feel anchored, others transient, creating a surface that remains in motion no matter where the eye settles.

The work embraces a state of near-completion. Rather than pushing further, it leaves room for possibility, allowing traces of the process to remain visible. It captures a moment where instinct and experience meet, where knowing when to stop becomes part of the painting itself.

A Presence in the Room.

Spanning over three aluminium panels, the work rewards close attention. Faces emerge from layers of colour and line, symbols drift in and out of focus, and details reveal themselves gradually across the surface. A silhouetted figure anchors one side of the composition, while the rest of the painting expands outward in a dense conversation of mark, movement and memory.

Drawing on techniques TOXIC learned from Futura, the work reflects on a moment that profoundly affected New York’s downtown creative community. Through layers of signs, symbols and references, it speaks to friendship, influence and creative exchange while remaining firmly its own.

‘THE LIFE OF THE WORK’

We are delighted to announce our next exhibition at our flagship Mayfair gallery — a solo exhibition with Swoon (Caledonia Curry).

The title names a throughline. Not a retrospective — the works that have travelled with her across the whole of her practice, from the early street years, to portraits drawn from decades-long community projects, to the fairytale worlds of her most recent work. From the walls of Brooklyn to the permanent collections of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum and Tate Modern, this is the first major survey of her work ever presented in the UK.

2nd July – 13th August 2026 | Woodbury House, Mayfair.
