So we have the first handful of show announcements for MERCYFUL FATE out in the public knowledge. But for me it's not just the excitement of returning to the big stages with my fantastic band mates...
It's being able to do it in Europe, in the UK, the places closer to home. Before Fate, I only toured my home continent of Europe. Their invitation took me to many places in the Americas that I had never seen before, and it was an incredible experience. But to finally bring it back home years later, to the audiences who have watched and supported my journey the longest. To bring the show close enough for my friends and family to attend... I absolutely cannot wait! One more year and it'll be a glorious home coming. It'll be such a different feeling to see those familiar faces in the crowd, catching up with long-lasting friends at each tour stop. 🤘 Roll on 2027!

Bloodstock 2026 - that was truly amazing 🤘the festival itself, the bands, the people!
I can’t thank you all enough for all the warm wishes, about the album with Iommi, followed by the news that MERCYFUL FATE will return to the stage next year! To the incredible community of Bloodstock Festival… We are so honoured to be your Friday headliners for 2027 🫨

Those who have followed my journey through the metal scene will know how much this festival means to me. I think the tally is now 13 weekends attended…
9 show performances (the first in 2012 as a Metal 2 The Masses competition winner)
In 5 different bands
Across 4 stages (this includes the VIP bar stage)
But there’s just one more stage remaining for me and my bass to enjoy. That’s the Ronnie James Dio stage 🤘my heart leaped when I saw the poster and the amazing slot we have next year!

I’ve been trying to keep this short, so I won’t go into the story again about Bloodstock 2022 and meeting Mercyful Fate… But this is a really special and exciting time. It feels like things are happening fast, but really, it certainly hasn’t always felt like this 😅 which makes it only sweeter.

Anyway, just wanted to say, huge love to the Bloodstock fam… Back next year, less exposed to the elements ☀️⛺️🥶🍻🍻🍻 but still very much in my element 😂! Come and see me bring the Rickenbecky to the main stage in 2027!

It's Bloodstock Festival week! Who else is gonna be there?

For me the must-sees are Judas Priest, Sepultura, Testament, Body Count, Nevermore, Castle Rat, Saxon, Black Label Society and more! Let me know what you're gonna catch 🤘

It's been tough keeping this quiet, but I'm sure that now most of you have now seen this news!

I've been working on an album with the creator of heavy metal, the riffmaster himself, Mr Tony Iommi... And yesterday, we dropped the first single from that album, finally unleashing the brand new line up that also features the brilliant Karl Brazil on drums and the absolutely mind blowing vocal talent of JORN Lande. The single 'World Alone' can be streamed now, and pre-orders for both this single on 7" vinyl and the album 'From The Dark' are now live.

This photo was taken at the end of our first recording session, on the day we met. I still couldn't believe that this great honour could be real, and I was so nervous recording in front of him on his song with no preparation, that I was sure they'd look for another bass player. I asked "Could we get a quick photo together, in case I never see you again?"
Tony just laughed and said "You'll be back here in two weeks for the next session!" But he granted my request.
And I still didn't really believe him.

But fast forward 8 months and here we are, the nerves faded and I did get to record the rest of the bass tracks for Tony's incredible album. I am so proud to be a part of this, and we're so thrilled with the results working with producer Mike Exeter. I've heard the final mixes, I know the rest of the album is coming out in October. I have to believe it's all real now.

Thank you everyone for the hundreds of excited messages yesterday while we celebrated the 'World Alone' single. Thank you Tony, the band and team for your amazing work and keeping this story of heavy metal greatness going with humble authenticity, devotion and respect. 🤘

Yesterday was really beautiful 🫶 a few dozen musicians with ties to the Birmingham music scene coming together to honour Ozzy Osbourne a year after his passing. Thank you Birmingham Museums for providing some space for us around the corner from Ozzy’s own exhibit. I loved seeing all his fans from far and wide coming together to appreciate his legacy, and it felt amazing performing some of my favourite music with my best friends. Well done everyone! 🤘

The King Diamond and MERCYFUL FATE band members are linked like siblings. Those kinds of bonds are hard to break. Despite only meeting Andy La Rocque (official) in person last summer I think we’ll always have that understanding and respect. His parting from the King Diamond band is a big change to us all who love the catalogue, but sometimes big changes are exactly the right move for the time. PLUS I am absolutely thrilled for my good friend Gus G to be joining the gang. I can’t wait to hear his brilliant work breathing new life into the music. Excited for the future of everyone involved 🙌🤘Congrats and well deserved, Gus!

Who recognises this location?
The first year has passed since Ozzy Osbourne left our realm of mortals. This location of the first Black Sabbath album cover is so recognisable and important to metalheads who feel a connection to the genre’s roots. We thank Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill every time we play music inspired by their creation. There must be tens of thousands of bands whose members recall Sabbath’s first album as an influence and awakening. Everyone remembers their first time gazing at the haunting cover, the sound of rain, hairs stand on end as the first note hits. I can only imagine how much more thrilling that would be to experience in 1970.

This Saturday afternoon there’s going to be a live music event at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery honouring Ozzy’s legacy. I’ll be joining dozens of local metal musicians to jam some Sabbath tunes. If you’re in the area, come and see what’s going on!

This weekend I was so happy to meet the incredible DORO at Maid of Stone Festival ❤️ thank you for an amazing performance! Meeting such authentic and genuinely kind people in the music industry is such a treat, and when they’re also an extremely talented, vegan metal queen absolute treasure… it really fills my heart with joy! Hope to see you again soon Doro and thanks for the chat, and thank you Maid of Stone fest for having me down for a day of awesome bands! 🤘
