This summer has seen the 10th anniversary of Black Cat NOCTURNE - season long spiegeltent show at London Wonderground in 2015 in partnership with . Nocturne was our second ever foray into the realms of full tilt, concept-driven show making.

The opening scene involved a rush hour commute with a regular guy falling asleep on the train and falling into a dark, kaleidoscopic dream world inhabited by sirens, fire breathers, contortionists and other oddball characters, presided over by operatic queen of the night

Directed by , with compositions and band arrangements by , choreography by Katie for & costumes by

Original solo and ensemble set pieces for the show devised in rehearsal at Hornsey Town Hall by Simon and our all star company:












The recorded music selections included special BCC edits of Tom Waits, Aphex Twin, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and others.

NOCTURNE was an art-house, crowd-pleasing late night summer smash - sold out 650 seats at most performances. It is now a moment in time which we are still very proud of looking back on, with a wonderful group of performers and makers who all brought their A-game, and who have since gone on to many other wonderful things.

One of the troupe is not with us anymore - RIP Ellie Spicer and big love to her family. ♥️
