A little peek at what I have been up to 😀

My crochet coral reef is slowly taking shape, and right now I am trying to work out the best shape for my anemone coral. There is a fair bit of experimenting, tweaking and probably a little bit of undoing involved! 🤣 I am never quite sure where my crochet corals are going to end up when I start them, but that is half the fun 😁😁

A little glimpse into the studies for my coral reef paintings 😁 These are just some details and colour explorations, the work is far from finished. I am simply playing with colours, techniques, shapes and atmosphere. For now, it is all about exploring and experimenting 😁😁

Mushroom corals often find their way into my artworks. I love their organic shapes, rich textures, and the beautiful contrast they create when paired with tube corals in a composition.

First I crochet the coral form, and then I carefully embroider over it to build up the texture and details. It is a very time consuming process, but I enjoy every step of bringing these coral-inspired pieces to life 😀
