Breath (2020)
89 x 20.5 x 35cm. Two views This fantastic work is now on show at St Botolph building part of solo show. “Identity is fluid, and dependant almost entirely on context. For something physically inert, sculpture is surprisingly susceptible to change when experienced in a different context. It can change depending on who is looking, and where it is seen. The sculpture changes in parallax, as the viewer moves around it he or she accumulates visual knowledge, engaging in an ever-evolving dialogue. It is this first hand and immediate sharing of space that is crucial to understanding the sculpture, and is the only way to experience – however fleetingly – its mercurial identity”
