We’re thrilled to share that World Heart Beat has officially achieved its Green Mark Level 1 accreditation!
A massive thank you to our Front of House Manager William for getting us recognised with this amazing accreditation.

As an organisation dedicated to inspiring young people through music and creating positive change, sustainability is at the core of how we view our future.

Working towards this milestone has driven us to look closely at our operations and find new ways to reduce our environmental impact.

Some of the ways we are putting our policy into action:

Planet Harmony:
Creating opportunities for young people to explore music, nature and climate justice through practical, creative activities. This includes workshops where participants build instruments from upcycled and recycled materials, alongside songwriting, music-making and performances at local community concerts.

Working with Local Businesses:
Working closely with our Wandsworth neighbours through initiatives such as Piano in the Elms and Jazz in the Gardens helps us reduce our Scope 3 emissions by enabling more local participation and delivery. This includes reducing emissions associated with artist and audience travel, catering, purchased equipment and services, venue-related activities, waste and suppliers.

School & Community Engagement:
Collaborating with local schools across the borough to inspire the next generation of eco-conscious creatives, ensuring our environmental values are delivered from grassroots level.

Instrument Recycling:
Donated instruments are loaned for free to our young people, helping to give instruments a new lease of life while ensuring the next generation of musicians can access them without financial barriers.

We look forward to continuing to create incredible opportunities for young musicians while remaining mindful of our impact on the planet.

World Heart Beat is honoured to be hosting renowned Brazilian pianist Marcelo Bratke on 19 September.

This will not be any ordinary concert, however. Marcelo Bratke and visual artist Mariannita Luzzati present, Cinemúsica.

This captivating multimedia concert will begin with a documentary screening about Marcelo and Mariannita’s unique artistic and humanistic project, which saw them perform in 10 prisons in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, bringing a new educational and philosophical approach to the Brazilian penitentiary system. This will be followed by a piano recital featuring music inspired by nature by Heitor Villa-Lobos, performed by Marcelo alongside nature-inspired visuals created for the project by Mariannita.

Cinemúsica has been performed at concert halls and festivals around the world, such as Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Brotfabrik Concerts in Frankfurt, Performing the World Festival in New York, and the Sarajevo Winter Music Festival, where it received the Art of Touch Award, as well as the 14th Brazilian International Press Award in London.

Join us on this immersive, unforgettable audio-visual journey. Tickets are available via the link in bio.
