UCL Stage Crew The UCL student theatre technical crew. A group of inexplicable young people who get their kicks out They like being on top (of ladders and situations).

UCL Stage Crew are a group of inexplicable young people who get their kicks out of pushing really important buttons, climbing really high structures, and operating really exciting power tools. They live on the edge (of deck platforms and deadlines). Sometimes, they are all that stands between light and darkness. (See earlier comment about the important buttons.) Apply to this free Audio Description Course!! 🎧

This course will be run online at UCL with a professional trainer, as part of an accessibility project launches this year. The aim of this project is to make ArtsUCL more accessible, and this course is a key part of that.

Within this course, you will learn how to audio describe theatre shows, gain a formal accreditation, and then have the opportunity to work on student productions and help train others next year.

There are only 3 spaces available, and full commitment is needed!

Dates:
Intro- 13th April (1 hour)
Sessions- 23rd, 27th, 30th April and 11th, 14th, 22nd May

Sessions are 3 hours, with short homework after each session. The course will lead to a practical assessment where you’ll audio describe part of a UCL Fringe show, with support throughout.

This course is open to both writers and performers, so please don’t feel you need prior experience in performance.
