I was deeply sadden to hear about the passing of Matz Skoog. An extraordinary dancer, director and mentor to us all. His influence will continue far beyond the stage. My thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues in the dance community.

30 years after his passing, I look back on the incredible life of Sir Kenneth MacMillan.

29 October 1992. Irek and I were dancing the first night of Mayerling at the Royal Opera House. I will never forget the chilling silence at the end of the performance – which is when we found out that Kenneth had died backstage. The greatest loss to the ballet world and to me personally. I was very fortunate to work with him in the studio and I will never forget everything he taught me.

We are pleased to announce that ENBS Artistic Director Viviana Durante will serve as a special guest for ‘s Raising the Barre workshop.

She will join alongside Cynthia Harvey, Stella Abrera, Margaret Barbieri, Charles Barker, Julio Bragado-Young, Phillip Broomhead, Alastair Macaulay, and Iain Webb. 

Featuring Frederick Ashton's "The Dream", the workshop will take place on October 29-30 at ABT's Studios in New York City.
