Sutton Writers is proud to be hosting an event during the Carshalton Festival. As a creative arts organisation in the Sutton Borough we share a desire to increase our group’s public visibility and share members’ work with a wider audience. We will be delivering on this!

Hi Folks, if you are around Carshalton today, our lovely friends from Black Swan Border Morris are hosting a family friendly Wassail! BB

🍏Wassail!🍏
Our annual family friendly wassail is this Saturday and free to attend!
Join us at noon for dancing and music outside the Honeywood Museum. We will then move into the ecology centre to make headdresses, masks ands shakers before wassailing the fruit trees - an ancient custom to wake the trees from their winter slumber and ensure good harvest for the year ahead.🍎
There will be a chance to place a wish in the trees for the coming year, join in some wassail songs, see a short play by the insert mummers name here and make plenty of noise to wake the trees - bring a pot, pan or drum!
Finally there will be apple juice and mulled cider (donations for charity) before some more dancing. 🍻🧃
We hope to welcome you all, 12-2pm and afterwards at The Hope for a music session (over 14s only) 💜🖤
