Representation has ripple effects through every level of society, yet in honoring her we must push for more than symbolic change alone. H.R. 40 would establish a commission to study and develop proposals for reparations; it is time we take these proposals seriously and stand up to the pervasive lie that restorative justice is somehow a zero sum enterprise.
