Enclave is an experimental artist-run infrastructure in Deptford, South London, that aims to promote contemporary critical art practice. Enclave hosts and supports eight rolling independent spaces in an incubator set-up, where artists and curators can establish mid-long term projects and benefit from physical space, shared audiences, group momentum, peer networks and knowledge sharing. Created in 2012 by Anthony Gross, Enclave is a form of artist urban planning. Rented from private landlords, spaces are sublet below market rent to emerging or nomadic collectives. Guest projects can be tested without the difficulties of commercial renting and in return rent is used to operate the site ad infinitum without recourse to public funding. This experimental economic model produces rent control, arts longevity and critical mass for both producer and spectator. Sames

Enclave is a not-for-profit venture and operates under the registered charity temporarycontemporary (no. 1123395). All spaces at Enclave are ground floor and fully wheelchair accessible.
