We are delighted that our Waterden Green Space for Teenage Girls project has been nominated for the Child-Friendly Place award as a part of The Pineapples 2025!

This project looks to address the lack of safe spaces for young women and girls by prioritising their safety and comfort in the design of a new green space within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The Design Team worked with Make Space for Girls (), the London Legacy Development Corporation, Elevate (), and many more young women and girls to co-create a welcoming, joyous, and inclusive space at the heart of the wider park.

The dynamic female-led team included engagement lead Black Females in Architecture (), landscape architect Untitled Practice (), structural engineer Simple Works (), and lighting designer Light Follows Behaviour ().

Winning projects will be announced and presented at The Pineapples awards party on 2nd April 2025!
