NELL ! REVIEW
“Nell !” by L.A. Green was staged in a fabulous venue. It was a fascinating story, very funny and beautifully performed by Zoe Teverson. It was great to learn about a woman born disadvantaged, but very street smart who managed to negotiate and climb to the top, and did not fall when her lover, Charles II, died. Zoe Teverson was in Nell’s shoes before she put them on. She managed in the small space not to look hemmed as she negotiated it whilst dressing and creating in the audiences’ minds eye all the scenes and beautiful rooms described. Nell, saucily connected with the audience who were almost on stage with her. The performance felt real and had a wonderful intimacy. As part of the audience I was entranced and I think rest of the audience was too. The experience felt special and immersive. Nell by beautifully lit by lighting designer, Jon Lewis, which may have been tricky in an intimate space.
Bravo, Lorraine, another brilliant show from Creative Curve Theatre Company. I look forward to your next venture.
