A "painting" pleases your eyes, brings joy to your spirit, and gains artistic value while it beautifies a wall, a room, a home, a building or an outdoor space. My name is Kathy Soti and I was born on a sunny May morning in Szeged, Hungary. My passion for painting started when I was a little girl, I inherited my artistic talent from my Mom who used to draw, paint, and had a great understanding of f
ine art. At the age of eight I discovered my abilities to draw and paint, and during the school years that’s what motivated me to actually study the art of drawing. I visited art teachers and joined art workshops to improve my drawing skills, further gain knowledge, learn technics and let different styles influence my taste. In secondary school I attended art classes and learnt different technics from famous teachers such István Zoltánffy (painter), Márton Kalmár (sculptor) and József Magos (sculptor). During the time of my graduation and a difficult stage of my life I got detached from my passion. This hard period later resulted a huge inspiration towards drawing and painting again, and I restarted practicing my skills, further opened my interest towards new directions and different ideas. In 1988, when my twin girls were born, I painted their room with tale-themes floor to ceiling with secco technic, which proved to be a great idea for children’s bedrooms. By the word of mouth this had improved to a business, and my painings not only appeared in children’s rooms, but in nurseries, general practices and restaurants also – mostly in Hungary, but in Germany too, 1999. During my business I started to paint landscapes, flowers, portraits, which my portfolio doesn’t contain due to them being sold immediately. In July of 2008 I decided to leave my country and try my success in London. Due to the changes and the new environment I started creating my works a year ago, and I’m currently seeking the way of showing people my talent and „My Idea of Art”. My latest drawings and paintings reflect a life’s beauties and shades, the world’s diverse moments and first of all a Hungarian woman’s passion and temperament. My hands are driven by my soul rather than my head. The contrast of warmth and coldness, the play of the lights, people’s looks the nature’s hidden miracles give the dynamism and inspiration for creating My Art. My aim is you to see this too, come along this road and let me share this journey with you…
