We're always happy to receive a top up of Japan enthusiasts Lewis and Charlotte's Hai Hiragana cards and books! Hai! Japanese is a passion project which came about while Lewis and Charlotte were learning Japanese. They were experimenting with lots of tips, memory techniques and methods and found that by creating their own designs they could remember it more easily. And they've all been beautifully illustrated by Charlotte Martin le Lapin

Meet our new Collections Curator, Becky Luffman!

Becky has joined us to lead a National Lottery Heritage Fund project. In addition to the exciting exhibitions visitors can enjoy, she is busy with the team behind the scenes caring for our collection of 14,000+ items. She brings with her skills from her curatorial roles at London Transport Museum and the V&A as well as her personal passion for illustration and manga!

Last Sunday we welcomed our Friends to the Museum for a breakfast with the Director and private view of our exhibition Does my head look BIG in this? The art of portrait caricature.

Our new Friend Charlie said of his membership, 'I had forgotten just how much I love political cartoons and I am only sorry it has taken me so long to take up membership. It brought me so much joy and the set up and atmosphere is wonderful.'

Looking for something to do this Summer? There are still spaces left on our Holiday Workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays in August. Create a comic strip, learn to draw manga, or have fun with silly caricatures! Workshops are £15 per child and aimed for children age 8-12.

Hogarth Highlight!

A few weeks ago we visited the inaugural Hogarth Prize show at Hogarth's House where Adam Perchard was announced as this year's winner. See the shortlist show before it closes 6 September and look out for Adam's solo show next Summer at Hogarth's House.

Check out these PAWSOME products! 🐾

My two summer cartoon workshops are fast approaching. Cats in Cartoons (14th August) and Dogs in Cartoons (21st August) will be a fantastic opportunity to treat yourself, friends or family to themed merchandise, specially selected from The Cartoon Museum's gift shop!

I have volunteered at the museum for over two and a half years. They have done so much to support me, so I wanted to show my support in return.

As The Cartoon Museum is of charitable status, I wish to help raise some much needed funds to support their collection and art programmes for years to come.
