Friday 4th September: Tom Houghton
Kickstarting our autumn season is "The Honourable" Tom Houghton, the ultra-privileged master of making elite, upper-class living hilariously relatable. Fresh off appearances on Netflix’s The Circle and Comedy Central's Roast Battle, this Leicester Comedy Festival Best Show nominee brings his signature silver-spoon storytelling to the Riverside stage. The Daily Telegraph called his performance "an unexpected tour de force that warrants a 21-gun salute."
Friday 11th September: Tom Wigglesworth
Yorkshire’s own Tom Wigglesworth takes the headline spot with his brilliant observational wit and masterclass storytelling. Known to television viewers from BBC Two’s Engineering Giants, Tom is a Sony Radio Academy Award winner and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee who remains one of the most articulate and original acts on the international circuit. As The Scotsman put it, "the gods of comedy chose Tom Wigglesworth for greatness."
Friday 18th September: Carey Marx
Circuit legend Carey Marx brings his delightfully dark, mischievous humor to Riverside Studios. A two-time winner of the Best International Show award at the New Zealand Comedy Festival, Carey has showcased his razor-sharp comedy on BBC One’s The Stand Up Show and Comedy Central's The Comedy Store. Chortle praised his unique edge, describing his style as "quite brutal, in a darkly comic Quentin Tarantino kind of way."
Friday 25th September: Andrew Mensah
Closing out the month is London’s own Andrew Mensah, one of the fastest-rising stars on the UK circuit. A BBC New Comedy Award nominee, Andrew is best known as the co-host of Sky’s hit reboot of Fantasy Football League alongside Matt Lucas and Elis James. Combining effortless charisma with high-energy punchlines, he was hailed by The Sun as "one of the UK's most exciting rising comedy talents."
