Agitator and Sweedish Style >>> https://bit.ly/4rqJxop

Agitator is the distillery behind Sweden’s most popular homegrown whisky as well as other spirits too. All spirits are vacuum distilled at low temperatures, to preserve more flavours, consume less energy and create better drinks. Their signature cask for ageing spirits is the chestnut cask, forbidden in Scottish whisky but enabling amazing results in their spirit.

Highland Park and Martin Markvardsen: 20 Years >>> https://bit.ly/46ktQrf

Saturday 3 October | 12:30pm - 1:30pm

One of the greatest of the industry’s champions and one of the industry’s greatest distilleries are celebrating 20 years together. Martin’s journey in whisky was by no means conventional, as is often the case. Before finding his way to Orkney, he was a two-time Danish boxing champion and attached to the Danish Navy’s military police.

A fateful trip to Scotland and a day’s leave saw him arrive at the gates of a distillery, where he fell in love first with the stories, myths and legends that surround whisky and then with whisky itself. His path eventually took him north to the storm-battered, isolated and majestic Orkney and to Highland Park, where for 20 years he has been its biggest champion.

Award-winning Swedish whisky produced on the banks of the Ångermanälven river in Höga Kusten. There is a serious focus on craftsmanship and a commitment to quality which is hevaily influenced by a unique climate. This all comes together for a whisky with a strong character and a distinct Nordic identity.

Tormore - New Exhibitor >>> https://bit.ly/4rqJxop

When Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh sold the best drinks retailer in the world, The Whisky Exchange, they were faced with a series of choices. Sure, there might be a certain appeal to fast cars, exotic getaways and the like but really for the brothers, the only option was to double down on whisky.

This saw the pair not only building their own distillery up on Islay, but buying a fully functioning Speyside distillery: Tormore.

In the time since the purchase, they have been busy. There has been a programme of sampling, recasking and blending to create a core range of whiskies that we are delighted to be sharing at Whisky Show both in the main floor of the show and in a Sunday masterclass.

Black Tot at Whisky Show >>> https://bit.ly/4w3l7ng

Inspired by the traditions of the Royal Navy, not least the daily rum ration, Black Tot is a rum with real character.

Before the Royal Navy decided that a modern navy shouldn't be mixing high explosives, heavy machinery and strong spirits, it was the world's biggest buyer and blender and consumer of rum.

In order to create the volumes required, there was a system of perpetual blending taking in rum from around the world, vatting them together in a perpetual blend, something that the Master Blender's Reserve and the Historic Solera continue.

Sherry at Whisky Show >>> https://bit.ly/4w3l7ng

If we are being romantic, sherry is the meeting point of geography, history, philosophy and gastronomy. These are wines which could not be made anywhere else in the world, thanks to the curious mix of soils, vines, soleras, and yeasts which combine to create wines as diverse as a racy fino and manzanilla, savoury amontillado and oloroso and luscious cream and pedro ximenez.

The quality of modern sherry has never been better, and we're seeing increasingly older and more concentrated expressions, as well as renewed vitality in more youthful releases. This is a chance to taste the journey of flavour under one roof, from the soils of Andalusia and the bodegas of Jerez to the low hills and wild glens of Scotland and beyond.

La Piautre and French Malt >>> https://bit.ly/4w3l7ng

In a story that’s faintly familiar, La Piautre began as a brewery in 2004 in deepest, darkest wine country in the middle Loire near Angers. While barley was grown and available locally, there weren’t any maltsters and so inevitably, the team turned their hand to transforming humble barley into the miracle that is malt.

They do this in the traditional way of floor malting and, a nice touch this, dry the malt using wood chips sourced from local forests. Once they had a malt house up and running, the team turned their mind to distilling and to whisky, with their first whisky released in 2017.

Domaine Des Hautes Glaces and Grain to Glass >>> https://bit.ly/4w3l7ng

Familiar to visitors to the show, Domaine Des Hautes Glaces was founded by Frédéric Revol in 2009 in the French Alps. The intention was for a grain to glass farm distillery with a focus on terroir and sustainable practice. That’s reflected in a commitment to organic production, regenerative agriculture, locally sourced renewable energy and eco-friendly decisions around lighter and recycled packaging.

For all that admirable green agenda, perhaps of greater interest to whisky drinkers is how these whiskies taste. Serge Valentin of Whisky.Fun gave their Epistémè R18P23 a score of 91, saying it "demonstrated extraordinary qualities and truly innovative ideas."
