🔥 CONCERT OF THE YEAR # 7/20 🔥
With Taake being one of my favourite live bands ever and ‘’Hordalands Doedskvad’’ album being my Taake’s second favourite, I was really happy that this set was coming to London. In my eyes, this album has always been carrying a very powerful Norwegian spirit and it always makes me think of my beloved Bergen. The show in London was outstanding and I loved the energy from both the band and the audience. I was very much in the mood for some ‘’Helnorsk Svartmetall’’ and Taake demonstrated how potent ‘’Hordalands Doeskvad’’ sounds like live. I spent 90% of the gig down in the crowd, so there was a lot of sweat and tears shed that evening in London. I really liked how they mixed the order of songs on the album and played them at random. I have seen Taake on stage countless times but this show could probably be my top three. Later in the year, I saw the same set at Beyond the Gates. I, of course, loved it too but it was the London show that stole my heart even though they finished the set in Bergen with my all-time favourite Nattestid I as an encore. Taake remains as one of my top three bands to watch live!
